Dallas SWAT is a Tier 1 SWAT team recognized by the National Tactical Officers Association (NTOA), and a section of the Tactical Response and Support group within the Dallas Police Department. The team serves the city and communities of Dallas, Texas along with its surrounding municipalities and Federal agencies with response to include, but not exclusive to:
  • Hostage rescue
  • Barricaded persons
  • Suicidal jumpers
  • High-risk/hazardous warrant service
  • Dignitary/VIP protection
  • Special events security
  • Tactical and marksmanship instruction
  • In-service training
  • Crisis negotiations
Dallas SWAT is allotted to be tasked with a maximum of 36 operators and 4 team leaders. Within a large metroplex police department of approximately 3,600 officers, Dallas SWAT operators are the 1% of the department. All operators on the team are primarily entry operators with individual specialty disciplines to complement the unit. Dallas SWAT operators are considered experts in their specialty disciplines and

  • High-Angle Team / Rescue
  • Less-Lethal Munitions

With an estimated 1.6 million just in the city of Dallas, the Dallas SWAT team is one of the most active and operationally deployed teams in America.
